I forgot to mention this before but the hostel we’ve been staying at in Shanghai has these amazing free buffet breakfasts; 4 different cereals, dumplings (pork and vegetable), bread / toast, a weird soup thing with battered bread things to dip in it, stir fried vegetables, and milk and orange juice. I got up early to stuff myself as I have now for the last three days.
After breakfast I packed my bags, bought some train food and then played pool for a bit with Luke before we headed off to get the metro to our train stations. I’m going north on the metro to the main Shanghai train station and Luke is going south to the Shanghai south train station. We said goodbye then I got on my metro and waved goodbye. We’ve spent the last 30 days together but now have different agendas and are going our separate ways.
At the train station I got on my train and set off for Hong Kong. It was a bit lonely on the train as no-one speaks any English and no-one seems particularly interested in entertaining my Chinese. Luckily I don’t mind my own company too much and I have an ipod!
I’ve been thinking a bit about my blog and I’m not sure whether I’ll keep updating it with daily entries from now on. I’ve never kept a diary before and sometimes it’s been quite nice to write up and it deifitely nice to have to recap on stuff I’ve done but sometimes it’s a proper chore writing it up and I doubt it’s particularly interesting for other people to read. Maybe I’ll keep writing my diary up daily (for now) for my own benefit and I’ll just update my blog every so often with the more interesting stuff.
So I guess this is the end of a chapter or something.
